Guar refined Splits is also known as guar gum splits or guar gum refined split, refined guar splits, Guar splits.
Guar Refined Split is derived from guar seed or cluster bean (cyamoperm tetragonoloba).
Husk and germ are removed from guar beans to get guar refined split.
Guar Gum Refined Split (Endosperm) is mechanically separated from guar seed which yields 28-30% of Refined Split. Guar beans are harvested and dried following the growing season. The beans are shelled from the pods, the germ and hull removed.
How Guar Gum Split or Guar Split Produced?
Guar gum split is the endosperm separated from its seeds. The endosperm of cluster bean seeds is refined to obtain refined splits. But before the splits are extracted there involves lots of procedures.
The seeds of this cluster been plant are harvested and dried at the respective seasons. After drying, the beans are removed from the pods and they are then sent for removing germs and hull. The resulting product after drying is then sent for wet-milling where the seeds are grounded until they become fine particles or in powder form.
The final product is then graded through quality granulation process which is then followed by re-blending in accordance with specifications. The packaging and labeling follows next. This product contains inherent properties for which it is preferred in several industries including textile, printing, cosmetic, pharmaceuticals, tanneries, mining, petroleum, pet food preparation and processing, and many more applications across global industries.
This merchandise is either used in powder form or splits. We are one of the leading manufacturers who provide high grade guar gum endosperm and gum powder to different industries in many parts of the world.
Guar gum powder viscosity is also depending upon quality of guar refined splits. High purified guar splits also give high viscosity. We provide quality Guar Gum Splits to quality manufacturer of Guar Gum Powder.

Application/Usages of Guar Gum Split, Guar Gum Seed or Guar Gum Powder
Guar Gum is generally used as an excellent and reasonable thickener and stabilizer in many aqueous systems.
The main uses are:
Food & Bakery
One of the major applications for guar gum powder is the production of bread. Even small quantities of guar gum powder added to the dough increase the yield, give greater resiliency, improve texture and give longer shelf life.
In this field guar gum is used as an excellent binder of water and a stabilizer. It is used in the production of ice-creams, sherbets, cheese, liquid milk products, and others.
Guar can be used as lubricant and excellent binder for various meat products. It allows storing with less loss of weight and can decrease the filling time for cans.
Dressing and sauces
Guar can be used as an excellent thickener to impove the stability and appearance of salad dressings, barbecue sauces, relishes, ketchups and others. It is quite compatible with highly acidic emulsions.
Guar can be used as stabilizer for chocolate drinks, fruit nectars, and juices.
Miscellaneous food applications
Dry soups, sweet dessert, canned fish in sauce, frozen food items and others.
Pharmaceutical and Cosmetics
Guar Gum can be used as a thickener for various cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. In compressed tablets Guar Gum can be used as a binder and distintegrator.
Several studies have found significant decrease in cholesterol levels after administration of guar gum in human consumption.
Further important applications:
Textile industry – sizing, finishing and printing
Paper industry – improved sheet formation, folding and denser surface for printing
Explosives industry – as waterproofing agent mixed with ammonium nitrate, nitroglycerin, etc.
Pharmaceutical industry – as binder or as disintegrator in tablets; main ingredient in some bulk-forming laxatives
Cosmetics and toiletries industries – thickener in toothpastes, conditioner in shampoos (usually in a chemically modified version)
Hydraulic fracturing Shale oil and gas extraction industries consumes about 90% of guar gum produced from India and Pakistan
Hydro seeding – formation of seed-bearing "guar tack
Medical institutions, especially nursing homes - used to thicken liquids and foods for patients with dysphasia
Fire retardant industry - as a thickener in Phos – Chek
Production Process of Guar Gum Split
Depending upon the requirement of end product, various processing techniques are used. The commercial production of guar gum normally uses roasting, differential attrition, sieving, and polishing.
Food-grade guar gum is manufactured in stages. Guar split selection is important in this process. The split is screened to clean it and then soaked to pre-hydrate it in a double-cone mixer. The pre-hydrating stage is very important because it determines the rate of hydration of the final product.
The soaked splits, which have reasonably high moisture content, are passed through a flaker. The flaked guar split is ground and then dried. The powder is screened through rotary screens to deliver the required particle size. Oversize particles are either recycled to main ultra fine or reground in a separate regrind plant, according to the viscosity requirement.
This stage helps to reduce the load at the grinder. The soaked splits are difficult to grind. Direct grinding of those generates more heat in the grinder, which is not desired in the process, as it reduces the hydration of the product.
Through the heating, grinding, and polishing process, the husk is separated from the endosperm halves and the refined guar split is obtained. Through the further grinding process, the refined guar split is then treated and converted into powder.
The split manufacturing process yields husk and germ called “guar meal”, widely sold in the international market as cattle feed. It is high in protein and contains oil and albuminoids, about 50% in germ and about 25% in husks.
The quality of the food-grade guar gum powder is defined from its particle size, rate of hydration, and microbial content. E412 guar gum is an important natural food supplement with high nutritional value
Manufacturers define different grades and qualities of guar gum by the particle size, the viscosity generated with a given concentration, and the rate at which that viscosity develops. Coarse-mesh guar gums will typically, but not always, develop viscosity more slowly.
They may achieve a reasonably high viscosity, but will take longer to achieve. On the other hand, they will disperse better than fine-mesh, all conditions being equal. A finer mesh, such as a 200 mesh, requires more effort to dissolve
Summarized Manufacturing Method of Guar Gum Split-
The manufacturing method as explained above starts with collection of good quality guar seeds.
The seeds are processed and splitted to remove the germs from them.
The splitting process is followed by dehusking in which the husks are totally removed leaving behind splits.
The splits are then sent for milling which involves series of production methods starting from
Dissolution, Filtration of insoluble substances (if any presents) alcoholic precipitation, filtration, drying, and milling and finally send for packaging.
The heat treatment is the prominent method that helps the hull to stay flexible for removal. However, after heat treatment attrition milling and impact mills are also applied to obtain pure form of splits. On the other hand, the endosperm of the seeds is separated through sieving.
In addition, though sieving method the finer germs and fractions of hull are also removed and sent for transforming them into gum powder. Separation of splits stays very important method for processing endosperm gum powder of guar seeds.
Depending on the industrial requirement and the type of end product guar splits are also processed in different methods to meet the commercial requisites. For example, the pre hydrated splits of guar endosperm are broken with the help of flacker machine or flacker mill and then sent to ultrafine grinding equipment where they are grounded without being exposed to heat. The grounded material is dried and then sent to screening for classification into grading.
